LACEO Banquet 2016...

Over Mothers' Day weekend, Mom and I went to the annual LACEO banquet. For those of you who don't know, LACEO is the Latin-American Cultural Exchange Organization. LACEO is a Philadelphia non-profit organization, dedicated to outreach to youth and the local community, located in Graterford Prison, Graterford PA. LACEO usually holds a banquet complete with guest speakers on the day before Mother's Day.

We arrived a little early to secure one of the last few lockers remaining. On most days there are usually enough lockers for everyone, but, on this day they were almost out of lockers by the time we arrived. After checking in, we arrived at the venue around 11:30am. This year's menu included pork chops, fried fish, fried chicken, salted cod, lasagna and rice with beans. For desert, ice cream and cake. This year, pre-packaged flan was offered as well. It wasn't made with anything even remotely resembling love, but, Sammy was very happy to have something different. I stayed away from most of the food, but, I did take some ice cream and cake, We got caught up on a lot of family gossip and had a good time with Sammy. All things considered, it was a good event.
