A recent trip to the local shoe store offered an opportunity for the kitties to play with a shoe box. Toto tried to stuff himself into the box -- then Otto actually managed to curl up inside. The first photo shows Toto trying to stuff himself into the box. He did actually manage to fit, but, just barely. Otto, in the second picture, not fit in the box, but, manages to curl up in the box.

Christmas 2012 has come and gone. This year, unlike previous years, it didn't really feel like Christmas. I'm not a big fan of middle-of-the-week Christmas. Christmas day was rather subdued. Gifts were exchanged early, there was food and the kitties got to play with the boxes. Likewise for New Year's Day -- it didn't really feel right in the middle of the week. The kitties decided to ride out the typical New Year's eve fireworks and gun fire in the upstairs hallway. A Visit From Sandy... Due to an ongoing construction project in our neighborhood to replace the water pipes and sewer lines for all of the houses on the block, Mom and I had already stocked up on bottled water. The weekend before Sandy's arrival, Mom and I decided to make sure that we had enough people food, cat food and cat litter for the coming week.
