Another Year Older...

Image
Birthdays were celebrated over the weekend. Lasagna and cake were served. Cards were exchanged, we stuffed our faces and I had leftovers the next day. The birthday cake was a store bought strawberry cake topped with fresh strawberries. Tony, Anthony, Alex and Amanda were in attendance. I'm wearing my AnimEigo 15th anniversary t-shirt, which is now eleven years old. Earlier, I treated myself to the Cat Planet Cuties DVD and the Bunny Drop DVD.

Angel Has A Scary Day...

Two months ago, I received a summons to report to a court hearing for child support. I found this a bit strange since I never fathered any children. It's been two months and the day of my court appearance arrived. Mom and I along with my bother and my nephew decided that we would make a family day out of the event. But then, that's where things started to not go according to plan... We were informed that we had to go to a different location. We walked two blocks out of our way and  discovered that my family couldn't accompany me. So, all alone, I ventured forth. There were the usual metal detectors and security guards in the lobby. After the security screening, I went up to the second floor and was greeted by two more security guards. They looked at my documents and pointed me in the right direction....

Philadelphia Zoo 2012...

Before the end of the world (inside joke), Mom and I decided to take a day off to visit the Philadelphia Zoo. We set out around 8:00am and stopped by our local McDonald's for breakfast. After a round of breakfast sandwiches and orange juice, we headed out across town. We arrived at the north entrance of the zoo just before the gates opened at 9:30am. Our path took us along the main thoroughfare until we past the Impala cafe. Then we cut across to the opposite side of the zoo and went into the bird  house. It was actually the first time that I'd ever been to the bird house even though I'd worked at the zoo many years ago. The highlight of the bird house exhibit was a small bright green bird with a long blue beak who flew up to us to get a closer look at Mom's wheel chair. The attending keeper advised that the birds are very curious about anything new in their exhibit space. After the bird house, we stopped for a moment to eat lunch. This year, we decided to try something...
