Thanksgiving 2010...
On Tuesday (turkey day minus two), Tony stopped by to prepare the turkey. Mom also worked out most of the menu for turkey day. There would be a record number of pies and cakes this year, along with the usual Thanksgiving fare -- turkey, ham, red rice with beans, potato salad, macaroni salad, tuna salad, lasagna, deviled eggs and stuffing. On Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, Mom decided to do all of her baking -- this year Mom would make eight pies and cakes. Among this year's delicacies were lemon meringue pie, a couple of raspberry cheese cakes, a pineapple upside-down cake, a double-chocolate cream-filled cake, a fruit tart, a plain cheese cake, a pumpkin pie, a pecan pie and an apple crumb pie -- by the way, the pecan pie didn't actually last long enough to make it to Thanksgiving day.
