Thanksgiving 2015...

Thanksgiving has come and hone. This years' feast included turkey, ham, stuffing, meatballs and baked macaroni. Carmen brought sweet potatoes and Karen brought collard greens. For dessert, Mom mad a pumpkin/chocolate cake and a couple of cheesecakes. Mom also made a flan for Karen. We had a surprisingly good turnout this year with Carmen and Victor, Karen, Junior and a couple of Karen's extended family members. and, of course, Tony and his kids. Josh made an appearance along with with Justin -- around whom have swirled a number of recent rumors. Mom and I had our rooms open. The plan was to offer Daisy, Chris and Toto a relative safe haven in the face of the onslaught of guests. But, thanks to Chris, Daisy had to stay downstairs. Toto went upstairs and found a really good hiding place in my room. After everyone had left, Toto, Daisy and Chris celebrated the holiday with a small can of tuna and a little bit of turkey. Halloween 2015...

For the second year in a row, Mom and I decided to be one of the handful on neighbors on our block to offer candy on Halloween. We got four big bags of candy and Mom packaged all of the candy into small clear bags. We ended up with two grocery bags full of little candy packages. This year, Halloween happened to fall on a weekend. Mom didn't really want to be outside, so, Amanda, volunteered to hand out candy. But, after a while, Amanda got tired of the task at hand, so, I had to take over.  Most people avoided our block like the plague, but, there were just enough adventurous souls passing through to allow us to give away all of our candy during the course of three hours. Fortunately, I ended up giving out all of the candy with no child left out.
