Pictures Of Sammy...

We've been seeing Sam regularly, but, being the lazy bum I've been lately, I have not been reporting in as often as I should. Here are a handful of pictures that I've had on hand for a while. The first picture shows Amanda and Christina. Christina is really, really good at Dominoes, so, we spent most of our visit playing Dominoes and catching up on family gossip. The upcoming Supreme Court hearing came up during the visit with Christina and Sam was looking forward to a positive outcome sometime. Overall, it was a good visit. The second picture shows Anthony. We spent most of the time getting caught up on family gossip. During the course of discussion, Sam advised again that there might be some good news coming from the Supreme Court next year. All things considered, it was a good visit.

As you can see, Sam seems to have been in a very good mood during these visits. During another visit, Mom and I went to see Sam. My niece was working and my nephew was sleeping, so, it was just the two of us. Sam sent an article in the mail which seemed to suggest that there might be some movement on his case. In addition to discussing Sam's case, we got caught up on family gossip. During the course of conversation, Mom happened to mention that I had my father's nose. That sparked something in me to want to know more about my father. Mom got sidetracked into other family gossip while we were at Sam's place and we didn't swing around again during the visit. All things considered, it was a good visit.

On the ride home, I decided to ask for more details about my father. His name was Adam, but, he was known as "Al". He was in his forties when he met Mom and the two of them met at work. Mom and Adam were both in the textile industry working at a place around or about 2nd and Market Street here in Philadelphia. Sometime before I was born, Adam died in a plane crash. There are no photos of Adam. At the time, apparently, my grandfather insisted that I should have his family name rather than Adam's.

During another visit... We got word through the grapevine and through local news sources that the bridge that we use to get to Sam's place would be unavailable for the foreseeable future. Following an inspection, the bridge was closed until repairs could be made. With the Graterford bridge closed for repairs, we had to take a detour. Mom said she was fairly sure where she had to go, but, I wasn't entirely convinced. We left a bit early with the idea that we would be wandering around the back roads for a while. With a Google Maps app in hand, Mom and I left with Anthony and Amanda at around 7:30am.

At the intersection of Sunneytown Pike and Route 113, we turned right and continued straight until we came to Perkiomen Creek Road. By the way, if you're looking for Perkiomen Creek Road, be advised that the road isn't marked at the intersection. Perkiomen Creek Road twists and turns and has a number of steep inclines. The road is probably not going to be passable in the winter or in heavy rain. Eventually, Perkiomen Creek Road intersected with Prison Road and we actually arrived a bit early.

After checking in, we got to see Sam around 10:30am. We played Monopoly and found ourselves so engrossed that we didn't actually get caught up on any family gossip. Overall, it was a good visit.
