The Movie List Gets New Gear...
Recently, I picked up a new Amazon Kindle Paperwhite. Babbling on about the wonders of its device, Amazon says:

So far, my new Kindle seems to be behaving quite nicely. The touch capability has really improved the usability of the device. The back lit screen improves the contrast and allows for reading in the dark. So far, the battery life is not as good as either the Kobo or the Kindle keyboard. I've found that I only get about one week of battery life instead of the eight weeks indicated by Amazon or a month or longer for the other devices.
By the way, the movie list now stands at a little over 3900 entries. I've made some adjustments to the export process to accommodate the Kindle. The Kindle automatically centers and expands a PDF page to fit the screen. This can be an issue when the content doesn't span an entire page (i.e.: a short list of items or a list of items with short names) as I typically want my lists to be left justified and I don't want the font size on one page to be different from the font size on the next page. To overcome this, I add a a gray line to the bottom of the footer template and have that footer repeat on all pages.
I've abandoned the annotation feature for notes in favor of a check list application that allows me to assemble lists of items of interest and check off items as they are found.
Alas, my poor sad Kobo has been retired and I'm not sure what to do with it at the moment.

I tried to get my hands on a Kobo Mini. It's supposed to be small enough to fit in my shirt pocket. I went to a couple of the big blue electronics stores with the yellow tag on the front and even wandered into a bookstore specializing in alternative lifestyle books, but, there was no Kobo Mini to be found.
